XIOS Weightlifting Team – 1st Unsanctioned Meet in Milpitas, CA
On Saturday, November 3rd, two of our young athletes competed in an unsanctioned weightlifting meet at Anchored Strength & Conditioning. Chris Cameron and Nikkole Suarez trained for 2 months and worked very hard to represent our gym. They did extremely well with Chris placing 1st in his weight class and Nikkole placing 3rd in her weight class!
Coached by Andrew Dela Cruz and Carlos Verzosa, they accomplished something many new athletes look forward to. We’ve seen them grow exponentially in such a short amount of time and hope they continue to inspire other athletes to work hard and progress.
A huge part of our program is to push our athletes to be better every single training session. We equip our athletes with the tools and guidance they need to succeed, and more importantly, instill a sense of pride and confidence to perform at their utmost best.
We are so proud of our entire team! Stay tuned as the New Year approaches! We have a brand new set of athletes ready to set foot on the competition floor. Catch them at their next appearance on the platform at Bar Wars IV on January 13, 2019. This meet will take place in Campbell, CA where you will see their hard work come to life.
Lastly, one of our very own, Tyler Jarvis is competing in the Men’s 102kg division at Rite of Passage 2018 in Oakland, CA. This event is between November 17-18 so if you are in the area and want to watch, come on by!
We’re cheering for you Tyler! GO TEAM XIOS! (Check out his 120kg C&J lift here >>> Tyler 120kg
